People have entire worlds contained within their lives.
Most of them will never write a memoir.
Most won't have a documentary made about them.
And most families don't have a simple, structured, ongoing way to record the stories they carry.
That's the problem AfterLyfe is trying to solve.
Why AfterLyfe exists
AfterLyfe began with a personal question:
If something happened to me, how much of me would my family actually have?
Photographs?
Files?
Social media posts?
Possessions?
But what about the explanations?
The lessons?
The family stories?
The way I understood the things that happened to me?
I wanted something more personal.
Then I realized the bigger opportunity wasn't only preserving things for later.
It was helping families have these conversations now.
Our mission
Help ordinary people recognize the stories hiding inside an ordinary life.
A person may think:
“My first job wasn't important.”
“My childhood was normal.”
“Everyone already knows that story.”
But their children didn't live those years.
Their grandchildren never met those people.
Their family may know what happened without knowing why.
You lived it, so it feels ordinary to you. They didn't.
What we're building
AfterLyfe helps turn an enormous, unorganized lifetime of memories into individual things that feel worth recording.
- A question.
- A memory.
- A photograph.
- A home video.
- A family story.
- A reflection from today.
- A question from someone you love.
Over time, those pieces begin to tell the story of a life.
